Day Zero Holdings
Nov 2022 - Present
Day Zero is my private investment vehicle. The name comes from the idea that every investment should be approached with the same intensity and curiosity as day one of a new venture.
After my time at WeCommerce and a period of reflection, I wanted to build something that aligned with how I think about capital allocation and long-term value creation.
Philosophy
Growing the pie > maximizing my percentage. I'd rather own a smaller piece of something meaningful than optimize for ownership in something that doesn't scale.
I'm drawn to businesses and founders who think in decades, not quarters. Patient capital paired with operational insight tends to compound well.
Focus Areas
Most of my attention goes to software and internet-enabled businesses. I understand the unit economics, the competitive dynamics, and the operational levers. When I invest outside of this, it's usually because I have strong conviction in the founder.
I try to be helpful without being annoying. The best founders I know want thought partners, not backseat drivers.
Structure
Day Zero is intentionally simple. No outside LPs, no fund structure, no artificial constraints. This gives me the flexibility to move quickly, hold indefinitely, and say no to things that don't feel right.
The downside is that I can't write huge checks. The upside is that I only work on things I genuinely care about.
